This years wedding photography

With only hours of 2018 left.I have decided to post a blog about this years weddings.

The South Causey Inn has featured heavily as usual, with weddings at both the” old-barn” and the “beamish-suite”.

Slaley -hall gave us a busy Bank holiday with weddings on both Saturday and Sunday.

Our first venture to the copthorne-hotel in Newcastle for the wedding of Lee and Natasha resulted in some great images and a fantastic day out.

Looking forward to next year I am intending to cover weddings through 2019 and into 2020 after which time I intend to have a well earned retirement.

I firmly believe that the images that are captured by Anne and I are some of the best we have ever been able to create.I look forward to next year and hope to end my successful photography career on a high.If you would like to be part of our story next year I would love to hear from you.Gerard Turner

Competition winning entry

What a surprise,my old master style portrait of my collie Rocky has been judged the best print entry in my local photography club competition. The standard of entry was very high, which makes this all the more rewarding.

The Consett and district photographic society (which has some very established photographers in its ranks) meets every Monday night in Consett Steel Club and welcomes new members of all abilities.

This picture along with the second and third placings is currently on display in the Consett Empire Theatre

Summer wedding photography at Kirkley Hall, Northumberland

I had been booked by the brides mother Shona to photograph this wedding so I had only briefly met James and Elspeth, they travelled from their home in Thirsk to be married at Newcastle. The wedding service was held at The Newcastle Reformed Evangelical Church and the reception was at Kirkley Hall in Northumberland.

Early nerves gave way to relaxed enjoyment as the day went on. The Sun shone and James, Elspeth and their guests were able to relax in Kirkley Hall,s beautiful grounds.A fantastic day for everyone.

South Causey Inn wedding photography

As a regular wedding photographer at The South Causey Inn. it has been a pleasure to share some wonderful days at this fantastic local venue.Over the last 10 years the "Causey" in Stanley has developed into a dream wedding venue,

The themed rooms, private grounds and the stunning "Barn" have made it one of the areas most popular wedding venues.

Here are a selection of images from 2016.

A fine day of Wedding Photography at Ramside Hall near Durham

Chris and Katies wedding  and reception at Ramside Hall

I have been taking a look back at some of the memorable weddings that I had the good fortune to photograph during 2015.This wedding was in April. The service itself was at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Lobley Hill.

The run down the A1 did,nt take long and we were soon at Ramside Hall for some great photography

Dan and Clems beautiful Langley Castle wedding Langley Castle.

Professional wedding photography at the beautiful Langley Castle

Langley Castle is situated just off the A69 near Haydon Bridge. This fairytale setting is one of the most sought after wedding venues in Northumberland. Its medievil splendour has been commented on in countless wedding reviews.

As an established north east wedding photographer I have the pleasure of visiting some of the areas most impressive locations, but I have to say this is at the very top of the tree. The grandness of the Castle is immediately evident when you arrive at the front gate and the immaculately kept grounds lend themselves readily to wedding photography

A good opportunity to see what this venue has to  offer is to attend the next wedding fayre which is scheduled for Sunday November 20th 2016.The management and staff will be on hand to guide you while a host of hand picked suppliers will be exhibiting. Here are  a selection of photos from a wedding that I covered  in July 2015.

A beautiful day in every respect..

Alex and Sarah at The South Causey Inn

A beautiful day in May,loads of sunshine and a wonderful couple to work with.

It was a pleasure to share the day with this easy going couple.

I am no stranger to wedding photography at The South Causey Inn in Stanley,

those who follow my work will know that this is my local venue.

The sunny weather meant that I was able to get some romantic shots with the local countryside in the background.
